How to convert PY to PDF online

Follow the walkthrough
  1. 01

    Choose the source version.

    Select a saved .py file or drop it into the converter. To convert Python code to PDF from an editor, paste a complete block with its comments and indentation.

  2. 02

    Check the pages.

    The first document builds automatically. Open the preview to check wrapped lines and page breaks, then adjust the paper, text size or theme if needed.

  3. 03

    Save your Python to PDF document.

    Download the PDF for a review or handover. Keep the editable script alongside it so someone can make changes or run the project later.

A DOCUMENT OF YOUR IMPLEMENTATION

A Python code to PDF converter for project handovers

A source listing helps someone review an implementation without opening its development environment. Convert a Python file to PDF and attach the document to a technical note, annotate it during review or keep it in a reference folder. Imports, decorators, type hints and comments appear in source order. Python to PDF does not collect imported modules or install their dependencies.

Convert .py to PDF
Document a module, command-line utility or exported script. To convert PY files to PDF, select each file separately; project folders and archives are not combined.
.pyw and .pyi files
Python to PDF also accepts a windowed script or type stub. Signatures and annotations remain as supplied.
Text and pasted excerpts
Use a .txt copy or paste the relevant lines. Include enough context to make the indentation meaningful.

LOOK THROUGH THE EXAMPLE

Compare a Python script to PDF example

Open the Python to PDF example to compare the weekend_walks.py source with its document. The script chooses walking routes by available time. Load it into the converter to try another layout.

View weekend_walks.py source
"""Find a walk with enough time to enjoy the view."""

from dataclasses import dataclass

@dataclass
class Walk:
    name: str
    distance_km: float
    minutes: int

def within_reach(walks: list[Walk], free_minutes: int) -> list[Walk]:
    """Keep routes that fit, ordered by distance."""
    suitable = [walk for walk in walks if walk.minutes <= free_minutes]
    return sorted(suitable, key=lambda walk: walk.distance_km)

# Leave a little room in the afternoon.
routes = [
    Walk("Riverside loop", 3.2, 45),
    Walk("Old railway path", 5.8, 80),
    Walk("Hilltop lookout", 4.1, 65),
]

if __name__ == "__main__":
    for route in within_reach(routes, free_minutes=70):
        print(f"{route.name}: {route.distance_km:.1f} km")

Sample settings: A4 / Light / 10 pt

  1. A class keeps its structure.

    The dataclass decorator, fields and type hints remain in their original order.

  2. The explanation travels with the code.

    Docstrings and comments are included without invented descriptions or expanded documentation.

  3. The entry point is visible.

    The main block shows the instructions for printing a route, without inserting calculated results.

A FEW LAYOUT CHOICES

Make your Python code easy to review

Keep line references consistent.

Leave formatting off when comments must match the original file. Visual wrapping adds display rows without renumbering the source.

Make room for nested code.

Try landscape paper for long signatures and comprehensions before making the text smaller.

Identify the revision.

Use the document title for a module name or version. Keep the source file with the PDF to avoid confusion at the next handover.

DETAILS THAT MATTER

Before using Python to PDF

How to convert Python to PDF?

Choose Upload PY file, then open Preview PDF or Download PDF when the document is ready. To save Python code as PDF without a source file, use Paste code and include the complete block you want to share.

Can Python to PDF preserve indentation and comments?

Spaces, comments and source order are kept. Tabs use four-column display stops and long lines wrap. This reading layout does not validate Python indentation; retain the original for exact whitespace.

Can I convert a Jupyter notebook?

Export its code as a .py script first or paste selected code cells. The converter does not accept .ipynb directly or collect Markdown cells, charts and saved outputs.

What if the Python code is incomplete?

It can still be laid out as text. Optional formatting requires parseable Python. If that step fails, your current source and any previously generated PDF remain available.

How large can a script be?

Each conversion allows 512 KB, 10,000 source lines, 100,000 characters on one line and 200 PDF pages. Processing stops after 30 seconds. Split a large module into smaller documents if needed.

Can I convert .py to PDF online without uploading my source?

No. Source and PDF stay in this page's memory, without uploading them to a conversion server. Reloading or closing ends the session. Downloaded documents remain wherever you saved them.

Is there a free Python to PDF converter online?

Yes. You can use this Python to PDF converter online without an account or watermark. Conversion runs in your browser. Download the result before closing the page; there is no saved project to reopen later.

How do I export Python code to PDF from my editor?

Save the current .py file in VS Code, PyCharm, Spyder, IDLE or Cursor, then select that file here. The converter reads the saved version, so unsaved changes in the editor are not included. You can also paste selected code.

How to print Python code in color in PDF format?

Yes. The Light and Dark themes show syntax colors. Python to PDF also includes a Black & white theme for printing. Preview long lines, choose suitable margins and download the document before opening your PDF reader’s print command.

Can you make a Python script into a PDF?

Yes. Select the script to convert a PY file to PDF, or paste its code. This Python file to PDF converter reads the source as text, without an interpreter or imported packages. It can also lay out an incomplete script; only optional formatting requires valid syntax.

How to change .py to PDF?

Renaming .py to .pdf does not convert the contents. Select the source file here and download the generated document. For example, to convert pdf.py to PDF, upload it just like any other script. Python to PDF creates a separate document and leaves the original file intact.

Free to use, no watermark. Files stay in your browser. See how PY to PDF handles your files.

Keep each file within 512 KB, 10,000 lines and 200 pages. A single line may contain up to 100,000 characters; a conversion stops after 30 seconds. Character support, encoding and download help are covered in the conversion guide.

Keep the script. Share the thinking.
